Videos from Helsingborg

For the week, we sleep at Margarita's place, a sweede participating to the Think Tank. We are not in Höganas but in Helsingborg: the mid-size city of the area.

This is the port for boats from and to Denmark (Helsingor is the dane city across the sea)

We came to this city about a year and a half ago, during our european bus trip. But we didn't stop, and didn't visit... well actually we won't have much time this time to visit.

One night we did finish working a bit earlier, so we went around town. The city is pretty (wee at least what we saw from it!). It was a friday night, so people were out and partying.

Helsingborg was a poor industrial city. Up untill a shoe factory became very famous and rich. When the owner died, he gave all his money to the town, but had the people in charge promess to take good care and make changes in the city. And they did it: they built lots of buildings for cultural purpose, they cleaned a bit around the port, added some public gardens... The city looks very nice and clean.

I guess we'll have to come back once more, to really have time to visit the area. From what people told me it sounds like Maine in the States. Lots of artists in the area, people are always out for walk or riding their bikes... Nature is a big part of life here.

Pendant la semaine, nous logons chez une suédoise qui participe au Think Tank. Nous ne sommes pas à Hoganas, mais à Helsingborg: la moyenne ville du coin.

C'est de là qu'arrivent et repartent les bateaux pour le Danemark.

Nous avions traversé la ville en bus il y a un an et demi lors de notre tour d'Europe. Et nous voila de retour! Malheureusement, nous n'avons pas beaucoup le temps de visiter la ville.

Un soir, où nous terminons tôt de travailler, nous décidons de nous promener dans la ville, enfin près du port. La ville est jolie (le peu que nous en avons vu du moins), et ça a l'air assez animé... remarquez c'est vendredi soir! Donc les gens sont de sorties!

Cette ville était une ville pauvre et industrielle, jusqu'à ce qu'une usine de chaussure fasse fortune. Son propiétaire à sa mort, donna toute sa fortune pour que l'amélioration de la ville. C'est pour cela que l'on trouve beaucoup de nouveau batiments, des centres commerciaux, des jolies places et jardins...

Bref, Helsingborg est une ville où il est agréable de vivre.
